When a deal is closed\, it’s easy to think “Could I have gotten more?” Or if a bid is lost\, the thought could be “Were my prices too high?” Questions like “Am I charging enough for my services?” or “Should I be selling my art for more?” keep photographers up at night. In this workshop\, Liam Alexander will share a clear rubric for valuing your work (and yourself)\, whether you sell prints\, portraiture\, events\, or work with corporate clients you will learn a practical rubric to set rates that work for you so that you can stop second-guessing\, start getting paid\, and win\, lose\, or draw\, walk away from any negotiation feeling confident in your pricing. \nTimeline\n6:00pm – arrive to shop at Dodd or network\n6:30pm – presentation begins\n7:30pm – Q&A\n8:00pm – open discussion\n8:30pm – event concludes \nLiam Alexander is an artist\, filmmaker and community leader. His photographic work has been featured in galleries and art fairs across the United States and published in magazines like Kolaj\, Nylon\, and Rolling Stone. Liam is in post production on his first short film\, and has collaborated on film and creative projects with major brands like Wix.com\, The City of New York\, Samsung\, SAP\, and Renaissance Hotels. \nLiam also served as the President of ASMP NY for 5 years\, and has been instrumental in building community-focused creative projects designed to educate\, inspire and uplift including IThou at the NYU Kimmel Galleries\, The Exchange at Rush Arts\, #StrokeofGenius\, and The Bridge Program. DESCRIPTION:Open Photo Share\nFriday\, December 5\, 6:00-9:00pm \nSouth Facing Windows\n1010 W 35th St\, Chicago\, IL 60609 \nJoin us for Photo Open Share\, a relaxed social event where you can share some recent work and get feedback from fellow Chicago photographers! You’re welcome to attend\, whether you want to present or just join the conversation. \nTo present on the night\, RSVP and we will send you an email with a link to upload 5-10 images you’ll talk about for about 10 minutes. NEW: attendees who want to present images MUST register and upload their work in advance.  \nWe will have refreshments available\, and if you would like to bring a snack to share you’re welcome to. Do what feels fun and easy. \nParking and entry info:\nThe building will be locked and someone will be at the door from 5:45pm to 6:15pm to let you in – please arrive on time. \nThe building is shared with Cube Smart Storage\, among other businesses. There is free parking on the west side of the building\, and the building entrance is located near the parking lot on the west side. You can let yourself in the building\, and take either elevator to the 5th floor. If the lot is full\, there is street parking on the south side of 35th St\, as well as on Aberdeen St. \nThe location is wheelchair accessible but we will need to coordinate in advance. The accessible entrance uses a ramp and two elevators.
