I’ve registered for next week’s Town Hall: Latest COVID Updates / PPP Forgiveness which I’ve been looking forward to for weeks!
However, I just booked a two-day shoot for August 25 + 26, unfortunately missing the presentation.

Somehow I always thought there would be a problem about copyright protection on Facebook and other social media platforms.
I try my best to copyright images that I think necessary.
Hard to know of what happens later.

As often is the case, even links posted in these types of messages can link to malware/ransomware and further compromise one's online presence/personal information.

Thank you for posting this information. I received the same e-mail from “Brian,” about two days ago. I didn’t reply, but checked and checked to see where it came from, or who was behind it. I didn’t get any answers, although there was a link to a NYC Lifestyles photographer and his website — and I wasn’t sure if that was legit or not. I’m glad I didn’t follow through. The links to report this type of crime to the FBI, etc., are so welcome. Meg McKinney, meg@megmckinneyphotos.com.

Thank you ASMP , thank you Thomas Maddrey for explaining in detail what the ruling clarified and that there is still a battle as that ruling will be appealed. ASMP contributed to helping me in this legal battle on many levels – I joined ASMP 45 years ago because I believe that when photographers respond as a group we are stronger than standing alone. There are other photo organizations who should have let their membership know as it is so important for our industry, and yet with all my calls asking them not even for donations but just to inform their membership – they declined. Now, I am getting lots of thanks and congrats but few donated even $5 – I have spent more than 10 times what has been donated thus far for legal costs to http://www.gofundme.com/warholvsgoldsmith over a 4 year period. Some of you have not stood up and fought for your own rights because of fear of the costs of a legal battle — I would not let that fear run me, I would not be bullied, and I made sure to have the best lawyers. – If you really support me, you support yourself — and I ask that you give more than thanks – I ask that you spend your time informing others as to what this case is really about and why it’s important to contribute. Give what you can in time if not in $. It’s very sad that with over 195,000 listed professional photographers in the US alone, only about 200 have given either their time or what they could afford — if artists do not support each other especially in this very democratic art form of photography, then everyone loses and your heirs lose too !
